Now that the winter season is here,the city of Frederick is hosting some fun and festive winter activities.. Whether you go out with a mask, or stay home and participate, these activities will bring your family together for some fun!. If you are planning on doing some outdoor activities, check out the “Light Up Frederick! Holiday Decorations Tour & Contest” this event will take place December 5-12. With this special event, you and your family can tour and judge all of the beautiful participating houses. And if you are on a budget, It is a free event, but donations are always welcome!
If holiday’s aren’t your thing, but you like history, you may be interested in the Ghost Tours of Frederick. This will be open on Saturdays for the rest of the month. On the tour, you will learn the history of Frederick and the parts it played in wars, executions, and just death in general. It is thirteen dollars for adults, and will take place at Brewers Alley, where you will watch documentaries along with other activities that will take you through the history of Frederick county.
Want something that is laid back and fun? A simple Saturday in Downtown Frederick with friends or family will do the trick. Carroll Creek has it’s annual festive boats light up all ready for pictures. The trees and shops are beautifully lit with string lights. You can buy gifts in all of Frederick Boutiques and shops, and support the small businesses.
On December 2nd through the 27th, there is a Holiday Art Competition Exhibit at the Delaplaine Art museum. It is open from 9am to 5pm, and is completely free of charge. If you are looking for a free activity and love art, I would highly recommend this event for you!
If you’re looking for a night out with your friends, Idiom Brewing Co. hosts a trivia night every Wednesday. Trivia is open from 7pm to 9pm.
For those 21 years or older, there is Jazz and Cocktails at Tenth Ward Distilling company. It’s open every Thursday from 7pm to 9pm. It is completely free, and has live jazz music.
For a more family friendly event, there is live music every Friday at Black Ankle Vineyards, from 6pm to 8pm. There is no entry fee.
