The PowderPuff football game has been a long-awaited game by many upperclassmen. Many of us enjoy the thought of seeing the roles of cheerleaders and football players, switch sides and do each other’s job. The Powderpuff football game has tons of clubs and people collaborating together to make this game event the best experience for upperclassmen and upperclassmen only. There is one question that some might be asking: Who helps with the annual Powderpuff game (student wise)?
TJ Patriot Army
For those who may not know, TJ’s Patriot Army is a student-led club made out of seniors who wish to have a say in what fun activities the school should engage in. They work with other clubs like: SGA, Senior Exec and more. Patriot Army also organizes and assists with making the PowderPuff game a success. This club is technically a more recent club and with that being said Patriot Army planning and associating with the Powderpuff could change the game for good. As of this year many members have talked about possibly getting the football team and others who sign up as cheerleaders to perform or do a halftime show. We can also expect some vendors and tons of fun!
Flag Football: Who’s allowed to play?
Flag football has been getting very popular around the county but here’s the dilemma: Would flag football players be allowed to play in the PowderPuff game? While asking Kianna Resse, TJ flag football player and cheerleading captain, she says “There aren’t any rules saying that we can’t play because we’re on the flag football team.” Reese will be participating in the Powderpuff game as a player and we will see her and possibly more of her teammates on the field the day of Powderpuff.
What does this mean?
We know flag football is going to be eligible to play as players during the Powderpuff game and go against both people who have experience with flag football and those who don’t. Is this a liability? Possibly. Although some people might sign up to be players without being on the flag football team, this is supposed to be a fun experience for everyone and allow upperclassmen to laugh and joke with each other. We also know that the Patriot Army is really working hard to make sure that the upperclassmen have something to always look forward to and that the rising upperclassmen will have something to be excited about in the upcoming years.
